Swag Bucks update

Recently, I posted about my success with Swagbucks (also here). With it now being gift giving season, I thought I would post how earning Swagbucks has paid for almost all of my gifts for my girls this year - even the "big ticket" items for my 11 year old.

Swagbucks is a search engine that gives you results to your web searches from reliable sources like Google and Ask.com. If you spend even a small amount of time online daily, chances are you're already searching the web regularly, and not getting rewarded for it. Why not search using Swagbucks and earn some money for your time?

In the past 4 months, I have been earning Swagbucks and cashing them out for Amazon gift cards when I have enough (you only need 45 swagbucks to cash out for a $5 gift card to Amazon). I signed up for a free trial of Amazon Prime, which gives me free 2 day shipping on anything purchased directly from Amazon, so I have been using my gift cards and free shipping to do my Christmas shopping.

Here is a list of some of the things I have purchased using my gift cards earned from Swagbucks:
Those are just the gifts for my oldest daughter. I also got 8 gifts for my 2 1/2 year old daughter for free on Amazon after Swagbucks, and a few for my 8 month old as well.

Now, I don't want to be misleading. The average person who uses Swagbucks without referring anyone will typically make anywhere between 1-5 Swagbucks per day (usually 1-2) if you're doing regular searches. Even at that rate, you should be able to score a $5 Amazon gift card (which costs 45 Swagbucks) or a $5 Starbucks gift card (50 Swagbucks) every month. Not bad for doing something you would be doing anyways.

However, if you take the time to refer people (on your blog, or by posting a bulletin on Myspace or a note on Facebook, etc), you will earn every swagbuck your referrals earn, up to 100 for each referral. For example, I referred my mom, and for every Swagbuck she earns, I earn the same amount in my account. If you have a bunch of referrals, it really adds up! And there are other gift cards available as well - Target, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, Subway, even Southwest Airlines!

It's a win-win for you and your referrals. Who wouldn't want to use a search bar that pays you for your searches over one that doesn't, especially when the results are from Google and Ask.com, both excellent sources?

So please, use my referral code to go sign up, and you'll get 3 Swagbucks for free to start you off. And then you can add the search bar to your browsers toolbar (easy to do, just one simple click) and use it every time you search. And then let all your friends know about it, so you can start earning those Bucks even faster!

I found out about this awesome site from a friend and signed up and now I have almost 900 swag bucks and that was earned within 1 month, mostly from referrals but 99 of that was just from searching! I am going to continue saving for a year and then cash in for Christmas gifts! Right now I have a steady income of 20-30 swag bucks per day and I hope to keep that going but am running out of people to refer!

That's a lot of new products to consume in a really short period of time. Why buy so many new things for children and teach them to over-consume at such a young age? This post just makes me sad.
